WAJEEHA KHAN - OLIVE
“The idea is to re-discover the old totkas that mums and
grand mums have used for years and the realization that
they actually work”---- Wajeeha Khan
Olive
is a brand of natural handmade skin care products that has
been launched with its range of natural handmade soaps in
March 2005. Wajeeha graduated with an MBA from the Lahore
University of Management Sciences in 1999. She worked with
Anderson Business Consulting as a consultant for two years
in Singapore after which she joined
Reckitt Benckiser,
Pakistan as a Brand Manager. Later, she joined Procter &
Gamble for a brief period, again in Brand Management.
Wajeeha
learnt the bare basics about the art of soap making while
in Singapore and then completed her learning in this field
in North America. With the technical knowledge of making
soap and her experience of evaluating businesses as a
consultant and of managing consumer brands as a brand
manager, she has managed to launch her business of making
natural handmade products, with her range of natural
handmade soaps. After a thorough market assessment,
Wajeeha was convinced of the viability of launching this
product in Pakistan, with no local competitors, she has
the competitive advantage in the uniqueness of the product
in Pakistan. Wajeeha recognized every females desire to
look beautiful and indulge in natural products to give
truth to her desire. She provides an alternative to
expensive international brands by providing quality and
variety in local dynamics. The current product range has 5
types of soaps for different skin types and has two body
scrubs as part of the range. In the future Wajeeha
envisions Olive to have a complete range of body care
products that includes face washes, shower gels, face
creams, body creams etc.
