MAAZ KHATTAK – NQSHGER

A marketing teacher changed his life! Maaz Khattak studied at Preston Institute of Management and Technology. Initially Maaz desired to pursue a career in IT, but with the foundation and interest that his marketing teacher had sparked in him, he was soon swayed towards the world of marketing and advertising. It was then that he decided to do an internship with Pakistan Television since that was the best place to learn all there was about marketing and advertising and getting a feel of the business. During the work he was fortunate to interact with clients and felt the need of providing private consultancy for media campaigns. With this idea he started working towards opening a consultancy firm to provide services to this sector. A thorough market survey yielded a positive result therefore with this theme he opened an office with two computers and started marketing activities. Quetta was in dire need of a quality production house. In comparison to the other cities of Pakistan, Maaz felt Quetta was one city that had been left far behind in the entertainment race, so with this passion and drive to raise the quality of productions in Quetta and bring it alongside to the metropolises of entertainment he decided to stay in Quetta and bring it to par. In August 2003, Nqshger was formed and within a couple of months, Khattak got his first contract of a documentary for an NGO after which followed a couple of video songs, a string of advertisements, and several other documentaries. Maaz recently finished a Tele Film on honor killings called “SAJJNEE” which had a mega cast. Other projects include a drama serial, which will be recorded in Quetta, United Kingdom & Dubai with local and foreign artists. After seeing the quality of the Tele-play “Sajnee”, a UK based production house, ELYESEE signed a contract with Nqshger for future productions. Maaz also wants to uplift the music scene of Quetta and give recognition to Pushto songs and artists.
